Description
Optcore’s QSFP-40G-PSM-IR4 is a QSFP+ PSM (Parallel Single Mode fiber 4-lane) optical transceiver for 40 Gigabit Ethernet applications. It provides increased port density and total system cost savings. The QSFP+ IR4 full-duplex optical transceiver offers 4 independent transmit and receive channels, each capable of 10Gb/s operation for an aggregate data rate of 40Gb/s on 2km of G.652 single-mode fiber (SMF). The QSFP+ PSM IR4 transceiver optics uses a 12 fiber MPO (MTP) connector on the optical interface and uses an MSA-compliant z-pluggable 38-pin connector on electrical interface. An optical fiber ribbon cable with an MTP/MPO connector can be plugged into the QSFP+ transceiver receptacle.
The QSFP-40G-PSM-IR4 is designed with the QSFP+ form factor, optical/electrical connection and digital diagnostic interface according to the QSFP+ Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and compliant with IEEE 802.3ba. The QSFP+ PSM IR4 module can be managed through the I2C two-wire serial interface. It has been designed to meet the harshest external operating conditions including temperature, humidity, and EMI interference.
